Myrtle Beach is located on the coast in the northeastern section
of the state, about 25 miles south of the North Carolina boundary.
The city is located in the center of the 60-mile long coastal
beach known as the Grand Strand. Surrounding terrain is level
with an average elevation of 30 feet above sea level. Major
topographical areas include the Waccamaw River and the Atlantic

Myrtle Beach is an active resort town, sometimes referred
to as the "Branson of the East." There are many concerts
and country music shows year-round. Broadway at the Beach
is a 350-acre complex that features shopping, dining, entertainment
and an amusement park. Myrtle Beach is also one of Southeast's
primary golf and tennis resort centers and is known for
world-class deep sea fishing and surfing. Myrtle Beach also

Myrtle Beach International Airport located just south of the

Airport in North Myrtle Beach permits private aircraft to
take advantage of complete services and provides general aviation
